South Axis Amsterdam presents the results of a research project by the Berlage Institute exploring the future development of Amsterdam's South Axis (Zuidas). Through essays, design proposals and interviews, the publication examines issues of urban identity, infrastructure, housing, offices, public space and landscape within one of Europe's most ambitious urban development projects. Contributions by Herman Kerkdijk, Rients Dijkstra, Javier Rojas Rodriguez, Magda Paryna, Pier Vittorio Aureli, Shino Hashimoto, Paz Martin, Alejandro Zaera Polo, Milica Topalovic, Kati Juola, Mika Cimolini and Daniel Valle offer a wide range of experimental perspectives on contemporary urbanism. The volume also includes an interview with architect Pi de Bruijn, providing additional insight into the vision behind the Zuidas development.
