Harimau! Harimau! is a novel set in the Indonesian forest and follows a group of seven rubber tappers and hunters who travel through the jungle while being haunted by the presence of a man-eating tiger. As the journey progresses, tensions within the group rise and past actions, fears, and moral choices come to the surface, leading to conflict and psychological strain. The narrative explores how fear and suspicion affect human behavior in an isolated and dangerous environment, while also reflecting on themes such as survival, guilt, and the consequences of violence within a close-knit group confronted by both natural threats and their own inner conflicts.
