Christopher Plantin's trade-connexions with England and Scotland

This study examines the commercial and bibliographical relations between Christopher Plantin's Antwerp printing house and the book markets of England and Scotland during the sixteenth century. Drawing on archival evidence from the Plantin press, Colin Clair analyses the export of books, the network of booksellers and agents, the distribution of printed works across the North Sea, and the role of the Officina Plantiniana in supplying English and Scottish readers. The article provides valuable insight into international book trade, publishing practices, and cultural exchange in early modern Europe.
