This 2007 edition is the eighth edition of Chambers Biographical Dictionary and contains more than 18,000 biographies, including over 600 new entries added for this edition. The entries cover notable people from many countries and historical periods, with subjects drawn from politics, literature, science, technology, religion, philosophy, sport, business, music, film and the arts. Each entry gives a concise account of the person’s life, career and significance, making the volume a broad single-volume reference work rather than a collection focused on one field or era.
