Traumgestalt. Johan Tahon is an illustrated exhibition publication devoted to the work of Belgian sculptor Johan Tahon, published by Deweer Art Gallery in Otegem in 2000. The catalogue documents Tahon's distinctive sculptural practice, centred on the human figure and on existential themes such as identity, vulnerability, spirituality, transformation and the relationship between body and mind. His elongated, often enigmatic figures occupy a space between physical presence and dreamlike apparition, an approach aptly reflected in the German title Traumgestalt, or “dream figure”. With a text by Jo Coucke and photography by Gerald van Rafelghem and Gerd Michielsen, the publication provides visual documentation and contextual material relating to Tahon's work around the turn of the millennium.
