Through a series of comic encounters, misunderstandings, eccentric characters and social observations, Charles Dickens creates a vivid portrait of Victorian life filled with satire, friendship, travel and courtroom comedy. The novel combines episodic storytelling with memorable characters such as Sam Weller and remains one of Dickens’s best-loved comic works.
