Exhibition catalogue published for Joseph Marioni – Triptych, presented at the Diözesanmuseum Köln from 11 June to 19 September 1999 as part 13 of the series Wiederbegegnung mit Unbekanntem. The publication focuses on the work of American painter Joseph Marioni and his exploration of color, light, paint and the physical presence of painting. It includes Stefan Kraus's essay on the corporeality of Marioni's paintings, a conversation between Joseph Marioni and Katharina Winnekes entitled I am not Making a Religious Picture, as well as sections devoted to Four Paintings, Studies and Three Sculptures. Illustrated in color and black and white, the catalogue documents Marioni's distinctive approach to monochrome and color-field painting and includes biographical and exhibition information.
