Over the Edges documents the ambitious public art project in Ghent conceived by Jan Hoet and Giacinto Di Pietrantonio, in which more than 55 artists were invited to work with the corners, edges and architectural thresholds of buildings in the historic city centre. The book brings together a wide range of contemporary artworks and installations, showing how urban space, architecture, orientation, encounter and artistic intervention meet in the streets of Ghent. As an exhibition catalogue from S.M.A.K., it is an important reference work on contemporary art, site-specific installation, public space and the relationship between museum, city and artist
