Hawksmoor

Artikelnummer 10223041

In eighteenth-century London, architect Nicholas Dyer builds a series of churches while secretly practising a dark, ritualistic faith that demands human sacrifice. Two centuries later, detective Nicholas Hawksmoor investigates a succession of mysterious murders occurring at these same churches. As the two narratives begin to echo one another across time, connections emerge between the buildings, the killings and the two men. Ackroyd combines historical fiction, murder mystery and the supernatural in a disturbing exploration of London, architecture, evil and the persistence of the past.
