Antiques Trade Mart is an illustrated British trade publication aimed at antique dealers, collectors and private buyers. Presented as “The Buyers’ and Sellers’ Emporium” and a dealers’ monthly international guide to stock and prices, the magazine focuses on the buying and selling of antiques and collectables. This first issue promotes an internationally distributed marketplace bringing together dealers and collectors and features advertisements and listings for antique furniture, clocks, decorative objects and other collectables, with prices and dealer information. The cover illustrates the commercial character of the publication with examples including George III furniture, an Edwardian serpentine mahogany display cabinet and an elaborate antique clock. An interesting period publication documenting the British and international antiques trade, dealer market, collecting culture and prices at the end of the 1990s.
